Vinous – 90-93/100 – Echezeaux Grand Cru 2016
Good full red. Fruit-driven aromas of black cherry and crushed strawberry show an element of cedary oak. Quite silky and thick on entry, then turns much firmer in the middle palate, with red fruit and mineral flavors dominating. The oak-influenced tannins come across as tighter than those of the two Vosne-Romanée premier crus.

Bright, dark red. Less unrelievedly black on the nose than most of the preceding 2015s here, offering sexy scents of dark raspberry, red licorice and spices. In a sweet, distinctly silky style, elegant in the context of this line-up, with its black raspberry fruit complicated by spices, licorice, mocha and chocolate. For all its mid-palate creaminess, this aromatically complex wine is still holding plenty in reserve. Finishes with firm tannins and lingering notes of licorice and dark chocolate.

Domaine Forey is al 4 generaties lang een niet te versmaden pareltje in Vosne Romanée. Thans wordt dit huis geleid door Régis Forey, een gedreven producent, die steeds alert blijft voor het maken van zeer mooie kwaliteitswijnen. Misschien wel één van de kleinste domeinen uit Vosne Romanée, maar met fantastische, stijlvolle wijnen. Prijs-kwaliteit is dit domein een unieke ontdekking!
Zowel het huis, de kelders, als de wijngaarden grenzen aan het legendarische ‘Domaine de La Romanée Conti’. De huisstijl bestaat uit wijnen gemaakt op hun fruit, homogeen in smaak en mild in tannines. Hier wordt geselecteerd op het beste fruit. De welwillende stijl van deze wijnen vinden we vooral terug in zijn klassieke Bourgogne en Vosne-Romanée AOC, met zachte, elegante, romige tannines. Meer kracht en bewaarpotentieel vinden we in zijn Nuits-Saint-Georges en Premiers Cru’s.
