Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – 94/100
The 2019 Certan de May has turned out very well, offering up aromas of rich cherries, cassis, loamy soil and creamy but nicely integrated new oak. Full-bodied, layered and lively, with fine concentration, powdery tannins and a long, penetrating finish, this is beautifully balanced Pomerol that no doubt benefits from the perspective of consultant Jean-Claude Berrouet.

Vinous – Antonio Galloni – 90-92/100
Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, menthol and anise are some of the notes that lift from the 2019 Certan de May. Medium in body, pliant and expressive, the 2019 has much to recommend it. Today, the 2019 is perhaps just a touch introspective, but there is plenty going on here.

De rode wijnen (Pinot Noir) van dit domein beschikken allen over een uitermate en elegante structuur waarin het fruit de hoofdrol speelt. Een energieke en ronde rode Hautes Côtes de Beaune is het bewijs dat men hier vooral lekkere wijnen maakt aan democratische prijs. Een all-round wijn vanwege zijn evenwicht tussen body, elegantie en frisheid, waardoor hij zeer veel gerechten kan begeleiden, van charcuteries tot gevogelte, vleesbereidingen en visgerechten.

Een rasechte Pernand Vergelesses Rouge 1er Cru en een uitzonderlijk fijne Beaune Cent Vignes tekenen de stijl van dit huis: goed fruit, mondvullend en homogeen gestructureerd.

Vinous – Neil Martin – 95/100
The 2019 Malartic Lagravière presents a refined nose of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and light estuarine aromas, very well defined and focused. The palate is framed by fine-grained tannins, and the pure blackberry and raspberry notes are laced with blood orange. Maybe just a little more granular in texture than before, but still wonderfully balanced, with great length and nobility. This will age with style. A sophisticated Pessac-Léognan with a lot of potential.

Vinous – Neil Martin – 92-94/100
The 2019 Ormes de Pez has an intense bouquet of blackberry, bilberry, pencil box and light fumé aromas, nicely defined but demanding encouragement from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, pliant tannins almost unrecognizable from the somewhat sturdy offerings in the past. It feels seductively smooth in texture with a very satisfying, detailed finish. One of the best Ormes de Pez that I have tasted in recent years.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – 92-94/100
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Ormes de Pez comes bounding out of the glass with energetic scents of black raspberries, fresh blackberries and crushed blackcurrants plus suggestions of menthol, dark chocolate, cedar chest and pencil lead with a hint of rose oil. Medium-bodied, the palate has electrically charged black fruit flavors with compelling tension and beautifully ripe, fine-grained tannins, finishing long and perfumed. Delicious!

Vinous – Neil Martin – 95/100
The 2019 Phélan Ségur has a very impressive nose of ample blackberry and boysenberry fruit, plus touches of graphite, sous-bois and light minty aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, harmonious and poised, with substantial tannins and very good weight. There is a sense of completeness to this Saint-Estèphe that urges you back for another sip. The best Phélan-Ségur in a long time.

Is this the most over-performing estate in the Médoc? Director Véronique Dausse would surely riposte that it’s simply performing at the level to which its well-situated vineyards and detail-oriented team entitle it; but in any case, the 2019 Phélan Ségur is a brilliant wine. Offering up aromas of cassis, sweet wild berries, rose petals, violets, licorice and spices, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with tangy acids, powdery tannins and a long, penetrating finish. This is another 2019 that en primeur purchasers can feel very pleased with.

Vinous – Neil Martin – 92/100
The 2019 Lacoste-Borie was impressive as a barrel sample sent to my home last spring. Now in bottle, it has a vivacious, quite floral, almost Margaux-like bouquet that bursts from the glass, featuring raspberry, rooibos and black currant aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with good concentration, a little spicier than I remember and a little softer in the finish, yet with good length and admirable harmony. It should drink nicely after a couple of years.

The 2019 Lacoste-Borie is a wine of immense charm. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis, licorice and sweet spices, loamy soil and cigar wrapper, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seamless, with ripe tannins, succulent acids and a round, giving profile.

Vinous – Neil Martin – 90/100
The 2019 Echo de Lynch-Bages, matured in one-year-old barrels for 12 months, has a crisp blackberry, briar and cedar bouquet with touches of mint, quite vibrant and lively. The medium-bodied palate offers succulent tannins and mulberry and black plum flavors intermingling with black truffle and white pepper. Maybe just a little abrupt on the finish at the moment, but that will fill out in time.

Vinous – Antonio Galloni – 91/100
The 2018 Clos Floridène is wonderfully polished and refined right out of the gate. Dried herbs, spice, leather and earthy undertones give the 2018 striking aromatic presence. Deceptively medium in body, the 2018 is persistent through to the finish. Clos Floridène is an unusually polished Graves with tons of personality.

The 2018 Olivier has turned out well. Dark and powerful in the glass, the 2018 is loaded with dark fruit, chocolate, leather, spice, menthol, game and licorice. This burly Pessac-Léognan will drink well at the dinner table.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Olivier has a wonderfully intense perfume of kirsch, Black Forest cake, black raspberries and cassis, with suggestions of red roses, pencil shavings and underbrush. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of ripe, expressive black and red berry layers, supported by finely grained tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing with great length and purity.

Deze intens donkerrode wijn heeft een zeer complexe neus met aroma’s van rijp rood en zwart fruit (braambes en framboos) , fraai afgerond met noties van koffie, cacao en chocolade. De smaak is vol, soepel en rond, met mooi versmolten tannines, eindigend met een aangenaam frisse afdronk . Deze prachtige rode wijn kan perfect geschonken worden bij gegrild rundvlees of lam.

The 2019 Peyredon Lagravette is a gorgeous Cru Bourgeois. Rich, pliant and enveloping, the 2019 is wonderfully appealing. Dark red fruit, grilled herbs, menthol and licorice develop in the glass, but it is the wine’s balance and sense of poise that impress most today. This is such a pretty wine, and also a potential overachiever in this vintage.

A blend of 37% Merlot and 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Peyredon-Lagravette rolls out of the glass with enticing crème de cassis, plum preserves and boysenberries scents plus nuances of dried roses, cinnamon toast, chargrill and black olives. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with juicy black fruits, supported by ripe, grainy tannins and lovely freshness, finishing with an invigorating lift.

Clos des Ducs behoort tot de grootste terroirs van Volnay. De wijnen die hier worden grootgebracht hebben stuk voor stuk een schitterende mineraliteit, een fluweelzachte structuur, een overweldigende frisheid en een mooi mondvullend karakter. Clos des Ducs staat synoniem voor klassiek gevinifieerde bewaarwijnen, en is zeer typerend Volnay. Kan gemakkelijk tot 15 jaar bewaard worden. Ook hier is enige flesrijping vereist (8 jaar) vooraleer de wijn tot zijn volle ontplooiing komt.

The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs is immensely promising, mingling aromas of cherries and cassis with notions of orange rind, violets, raw cocoa and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it’s bright and concentrated, built around powdery tannins and tangy acids.

Vinous – Neil Martin – 93-95/100
The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru was dense and broody on the nose, a
stroppy teenager hiding in his bedroom. It only reluctantly offers
blackberry, briar and pressed iris flower aromas. The palate is mediumbodied, one of the most decadent of Grivot’s 2019s in barrel. Touches of
dark chocolate and black truffle enhance the persistent finish. Very saline
and spicy on the aftertaste. This is a long-term Echézeaux.

Grenache 70%, Cinsault 30%

Perfect in zijn eenvoud, wat betekent dat hij nooit gaat vervelen. Op elk moment bruikbaar toont hij heerlijke harmonieuze aroma’s. Pittig, kruidig, aangevuld met een fijne, zachte expressie van Bramenconfituur. Dit is een zachte, ronde en soepele drinkwijn samengesteld uit Grenache, Syrah en Carignan uit de regio van de Minervois. Aangename landwijn van een meester wijnmaker.

Deze witte wijn van Château Guiranne heeft een aangenaam en vooral expressief aroma van citrus, mandarijn, exotisch fruit en citrusbloesems. In de mond proeven we een frisse en vlezige wijn met een goede aromatische persistentie, waarbij fijnfruitige nuances van mango eindigen in een minerale afdronk met een toasty accent. Past zeer goed bij zeevruchten, wit vlees en exotische keuken. Kan ook gedronken worden bij het aperitief waarbij allerlei hapjes worden geserveerd.

Deze witte wijn van Château Guiranne heeft een aangenaam en vooral expressief aroma van citrus, mandarijn, exotisch fruit en citrusbloesems. In de mond proeven we een frisse en vlezige wijn met een goede aromatische persistentie, waarbij fijnfruitige nuances van mango eindigen in een minerale afdronk met een toasty accent. Past zeer goed bij zeevruchten, wit vlees en exotische keuken. Kan ook gedronken worden bij het aperitief waarbij allerlei hapjes worden geserveerd.
