The 2019 Reynon Blanc offers lovely peach skin, Nashi pear and orange pith scents on the nose. The palate is well balanced with a tangy citrus entry that dovetails into more tropical notes towards the finish. This will give pleasure straight from the off.

Couleur pâle. Nez intense, très fruité, frais et mûr. Nuances de citron et de verveine. Bouche délicieuse ! Vin fondant et parfumé, avec une touche plus suave que parfois, de bon aloi. Bonne longueur sèveuse. Ce vin est déjà en bouteilles, ce qui me paraît être un bon exemple à suivre. Vous pouvez le décanter avant 2022 et le servir non décanté après jusqu’en 2026. 100 % sauvignon. 2021 – 2025.

The 2015 Monthélie Sur La Velle 1er Cru is better than the 2013 and 2014: redcurrant and raspberry on the nose that has a pastille-like purity. The palate is ripe on the entry with sweet red cherries, a fine line of acidity with cranberry and raspberry on the gutsy, sappy finish. Enjoy this now and over the next 4 to 5 years.

Robert Parker The Wine Advocate – 97+/100
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Trotanoy is 100% Merlot and begins quite stubborn and broody on the nose at this youthful stage, needing a lot of coaxing to reveal a core of plum preserves, blackberry pie and licorice with suggestions of cast-iron pan, underbrush, tilled soil and charcoal. Medium-bodied, the palate is not at all weighty, but it is built like a brick house, with bags of restrained, muscular fruit and a solid line of firm, grainy tannins, finishing with epic length and fantastic tension. A very impressive wine that should by incredibly long-lived!

Vinous – Antonio Galloni – 95/100
The 2017 Trotanoy is a dark, brooding wine, as it so often is. The tannins are forbidding at this stage, but then again, that is Trotanoy. Smoke, incense, game and a whole range of mineral inflections run through the 2017. Energetic and impeccable in its balance, Trotanoy is compelling in 2017, but readers need to cellar it for a few years at least, after which it will drink well for a number of decades.

The 2017 Clos Saint Julien is a total knockout. Lavender, mint, inky dark fruit, spice, licorice, chocolate and leather all open up in the glass, but it is the wine’s nuance and total sense of precision that impresses most. A wine of great delineation, the 2017 is simply brilliant. Don’t miss it.

65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre en 5% Muscardin. Deze wijn is een schoolvoorbeeld van concentratie. De neus is werkelijk schitterend: zwarte vruchten, exotische specerijen, cacao. Het perfecte huwelijk tussen power (zwart zoethout) en finesse (viooltjes). De aanwezigheid van fluweelzachte tannines  voorspellen een mooie toekomst. Ideaal voor bij wildgerechten.

Château de la Gardine Châteauneuf du Pâpe Rouge 2016 – Brilliant ruby-red. A lively, mineral-accented bouquet evokes ripe red and dark berries and lavender, and a spicy note builds with air. Smooth and gently sweet, offering concentrated raspberry and cherry flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Shows very good depth and closes sappy and long, displaying subtle tannins and a sexy floral pastille flourish.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – 89/100
The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, with the remaining 10% a mix of Cinsault, Muscardin and Terret Noir. Dark and earthy, it delivers notes of cola, cocoa and dried spices rather than bright fruit. Drink this full-bodied, velvety wine over the next 6-7 years.

Vinous –  90-93/100 – Echezeaux Grand Cru 2016
Good full red. Fruit-driven aromas of black cherry and crushed strawberry show an element of cedary oak. Quite silky and thick on entry, then turns much firmer in the middle palate, with red fruit and mineral flavors dominating. The oak-influenced tannins come across as tighter than those of the two Vosne-Romanée premier crus.

Vinous – Antonio Galloni 92-94/100 – Echezeaux Grand Cru 2015
Bright, dark red. Less unrelievedly black on the nose than most of the preceding 2015s here, offering sexy scents of dark raspberry, red licorice and spices. In a sweet, distinctly silky style, elegant in the context of this line-up, with its black raspberry fruit complicated by spices, licorice, mocha and chocolate. For all its mid-palate creaminess, this aromatically complex wine is still holding plenty in reserve. Finishes with firm tannins and lingering notes of licorice and dark chocolate.

The Wine Advocate – Robert Parker 92/100
The 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Domaine Forey Père & Fils has a delineated, nicely focused bouquet with crisp red cherry and strawberry scents, more “open for business” compared to its peers with subtle mineral/cold stone elements becoming more obvious as it swirls in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, slightly chalky in texture but tensile. I like the energy here, even if it deserves more persistence to show through on the finish. One to watch.

Vinous –  90-92/100 – Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2016
Good medium red. Quite oaky on the nose, like the Echézeaux, offering aromas of redcurrant, spices, licorice, herbs and pepper. Then a bit more harmonious in the middle palate than the more masculine Echézeaux but still reticent, conveying strong saline minerality. I find this quite tannic but not astringent.

Las Ninas premium is een blend van Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvèdre en Merlot, waarvan de verhoudingen van jaar tot jaar worden geëvalueerd naargelang het resultaat van een afzonderlijke vinificatie. De Cabernet Sauvignon wordt gevinifieerd op houten vaten, terwijl de andere rassen op lage temperaturen een ‘macération carbonique’ ondergaan, waardoor het fruitig karakter en de complexiteit aan aroma’s wordt gegarandeerd. Na de assemblage laat men de wijn nog gedurende 10 à 12 maanden rusten op Franse eikenhouten vaten. Dit alles resulteert in een heerlijk, complex, fruitig aroma waarin noties van eucalyptus en braambessen opvallend aanwezig zijn. Dankzij de zorgvuldige selectie bij de assemblage, proeven we een uitermate rijke en zachte structuur waarbij de mooi afgeronde tannines zorgen voor deze uiterst elegante Premium. Een bijzonder aangename en gulle wijn die perfect kan gecombineerd worden bij allerhande ragout en gebraad.

Deze ongewone witte wijn wordt gemaakt van de Vermentinodruif.
In het glas is de wijn kristalhelder met groene reflexen, in de neus expressief, in de mond vol en evenwichtig, met mooie smaken van venkel, pompelmoes en peer zonder daarin overdadig te worden.

Vinous – Antonio Galloni – 90-92/100
The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Vergelesses 1er Cru was somewhat muted on the nose compared to other Premier Crus from Bize. It didn’t want to come out and play on the day of my visit! The palate is medium-bodied and demonstrates good intensity, perhaps the most structure and grip of the range, and lovely raspberry and light spicy notes toward the finish. Give this three or four years to allow the aromatics to open.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – 90-93/100
The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Vergelesses was 20% destemmed this year, as Chisa Bize struggled to fit all the grapes in the fermentation tank. Offering up aromas of sweet berry fruit, plums, rose petals and spices, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fleshy mid-palate and attractive balance. I suspect this year’s Guettes has the edge but the Vergelesses is certainly one of the highlights of the range.

Grenache 70%, Cinsault 30%

Perfect in zijn eenvoud, wat betekent dat hij nooit gaat vervelen. Op elk moment bruikbaar toont hij heerlijke harmonieuze aroma’s. Pittig, kruidig, aangevuld met een fijne, zachte expressie van Bramenconfituur. Dit is een zachte, ronde en soepele drinkwijn samengesteld uit Grenache, Syrah en Carignan uit de regio van de Minervois. Aangename landwijn van een meester wijnmaker.

Vinous – Antonio Galloni – 90-93/100
The 2023 Tronquoy is quite elegant in this vintage. Crushed flowers, mint, dried herbs, tobacco and cedar lend lovely aromatic complexity. There’s more Petit Verdot in this year’s blend, which comes through in the wine’s aromatic presence, and also less Merlot, which is noticeable in the mouthfeel. It’s a style I like a lot—more Saint-Estèphe and less of the rusticity that marked some years. This is a very pretty and promising Tronquoy, not to mention one of the most finessed vintages of this wine I can remember tasting.

Vinous 90-91 Full ruby. Superripe, complex aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, oak spice, caramel and saddle leather. Pliant, vinous, and refined; offers impressive density and depth for the vintage but there still a bit less extract here to support the tannins than in the ’98. Impressively long on the back end.

The Wine Advocate – Robert Parker 90 A star of the vintage, this classy, cedary, black currant, and sweet cherry-scented, dense ruby-colored Las Cases exhibits a beautiful dosage of new oak, medium body, expansive, ripe, concentrated flavors, plenty of glycerin, and exceptional purity. It is low in acidity, and already delicious.

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate – Score 95/100
The NV Palo Cortado Wellington VORS is produced from Palomino grapes from the Balbaina and Miraflores vineyards, both in the municipality of Sanlucar de Barrameda, where the winery is also located. The wine has a deep amber color, a profound, clean, subtle nose of candied oranges, ginger, hazelnuts, cigar ash and smoke. The complex palate is very gentle, sharp but not aggressive, with clean flavors, great persistence and a dry finish where the orange rind comes back with a touch of beeswax. An exceptional Palo Cortado. 19% alcohol.

Een niet te versmaden product van het huis Raymond Ragnaud (Cognac) is de Pineau des Charentes. Dit is een gemuteerde wijn waarvan de gisting wordt gestopt door toevoeging van 80 jaar oude Cognac en die vervolgens nog 7 jaar in zeer oude vaten wordt bewaard. Het resultaat is een delicaat zachte, karamelgetinte wijn met aroma’s van vijgen, honing en droog fruit. Deze Pineau de Charentes wordt fris gedronken als aperitief, maar kan ook uitermate bekoren bij foie gras en zelfs bij het dessert.
