Ch Labégorce 2020
Cru Bourgeois Supérieur
€ 29.10/ Per fles min. 12 flessen
Vinous – 91-93/100
The 2020 Labégorce was picked 16 September to 1 October and raised in 40% new oak, the remainder one year old. It has a perfumed bouquet with brambly red fruit, wild strawberry mixed with raspberry preserve and rose petal, hints of orange rind emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, classic in style with a fine bead of acidity that imparts plenty of freshness. More black fruit on the palate compared to the nose with a saline finish, this is a fine Margaux that has a suppleness suggesting it will drink early after bottling.
The Wine Advocate – 89-91/100
The 2020 Labégorce is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, aging in French oak barrels, 40% new. The alcohol is 14%. Medium to deep purple-black in color, it slides out of the glass with open-knit scents of redcurrant jelly, kirsch and black raspberries, plus hints of bay leaves and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and elegant with plenty of vivacious red berry flavors and a soft texture, finishing with an herbal lift.
J.M. Quarin – 89/100
Couleur sombre, intense et belle. Nez moyennement aromatique, au fruité mûr et suave. Bouche au toucher raffiné, au corps élancé, avec de la minutie dans la réalisation. Jolie finale parfumée et même la plus parfumée que je connaisse. Grain fin. Assemblage : 50 % cabernet sauvignon, 45 % merlot, 3 % cabernet franc, 2 % petit verdot.
